Q&A: Which party does the Rabbi support? Still Ra’am?
Which party does the Rabbi support? Still Ra’am?
Question
Hello, honorable Rabbi,
In the past you stated that you supported Ra’am in order to help Arabs integrate into Israeli politics. Is that still your position?
Thank you
Answer
First, there is a difference between saying that I support Ra’am and saying that I would vote for them in order to help Arab integration. Second, I didn’t vote for them the last time either.
In any case, right now I can’t answer, because it’s still not clear which parties will be running in the election. Among the existing ones, it’s really hard to find anyone to vote for.
Discussion on Answer
Still, what’s the general direction? Or who did you vote for last time?
I’m guessing that one of the goals of The Third Way is that eventually Michi will get approached to join some party or another, in a realistic slot, so that he can be elected to the Knesset.
The candidates:
Bennett’s party (probably the highest chance).
Gantz’s party.
Lapid’s party.
A “right-wing, liberal, non-messianic and non-Likudnik” party that will be formed later on.
Whoever offers Michi the most realistic slot.
I’m also guessing that there have already been feelers / hints toward certain people.
Final guess: it won’t happen. Not even close.
And what about Bennett’s party or Yoaz Hendel?
