Q&A: Cold Intellect
Cold Intellect
Question
Suppose I’ve been convinced by the arguments in your book about the existence of God and the truth of the Torah. What if that doesn’t produce any “feeling” in me—that is, this knowledge doesn’t move me in the direction of observance.
Put differently, a person who isn’t interested in investigating and inquiring into the existence and truth of God, and His will—presumably, as in any area of life, if I have no interest in it and don’t devote time to clarifying it, I won’t be knowledgeable about it.
How can such a person, who is “cold” in terms of faith / belief, be religious and fulfill God’s will?
Answer
Then he should take a pill, or go see a psychologist, and leave me alone.
