Q&A: Fatherhood and Fathers
Fatherhood and Fathers
Question
Hello, Rabbi,
I am interested in meeting with you.
I would like to draw on your experience in order to reach a solution regarding the inequality between spouses after divorce.
I am turning to you as a representative of many fathers who cannot bear the burden of child support and the parental alienation they experience, as well as imprisonment, the cruelty of the welfare system (and society in general), the courts, false arrests, and much more.
I have read some of your articles and see that although you are not a feminist, in my opinion you lack some information that could help you arrive at a more complete picture, and thereby at a solution more closely aligned with values such as justice, equality, etc., which I believe are important to you.
Thank you,

Answer
Hello, Yondav.
I quickly went over the position paper you sent. In my impression as well (even from before), there are cases of injustice. I am not sufficiently familiar with the details to know how common this is, and in order to form a position one has to hear all sides (and all the studies). In any case, I do not see how I can be of help to your cause. The matter is a legal one, and as such it is entrusted to legislators, judges, and the welfare authorities. Much success.
